Today We Pray - May 12, 2017

Dear God, You are ushering in another day, untouched and freshly new, so here I come to ask You God for renewal. Forgive the many errors, that I made yesterday, and let me try again dear God, to walk closer in Thy way. But Father, I am well aware, I can't make it on my own, so take my hand and hold it tight, for I can't walk alone.

I was born a weak, defenseless child, but Your angel spread his wings over my cradle to defend me. From birth until now, Your love has illumined my path and has wondrously guided me towards the light of eternity; from birth until now the generous gifts of Your providence have been marvelously showered upon me. I give You thanks for every step of my life's journey, together with all who have come to know you, who call upon your name.

Support me all the day long of this troublous life, until the shadows lengthen and the evening comes. And, the busy world is hushed, and the fever of life is over and my work is done. Then of Thy mercy, grant me a safe lodging, and a holy rest and a peace at last through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Today We Pray - May 11, 2017

Dear God, all praise and glory to you. Make Your home with me today and every day of my life. Be with me in all I do.

Every life has its trials, and I have my share. Help me to see the challenges of life as opportunities to test my sincere and single-minded faith and to grow, and endure, and persist despite obstacles in my path. For people who have it easy in life develop no strength.

So often it’s the little things in life that get to me, and there seem to be so many of them. Whenever I’m tempted to lose my temper, blame someone, or just give up, help me see You. Help us never lose sight of the unconditional love You have for us, and let us hold on to that hope when our labor—and the fruit of our labor—are gone.

Dear God, let Your Holy Spirit be powerful to direct my thinking today. So that, it be empty of self pity, dishonesty, self-will, self-seeking and fear. Inspire my thinking, decisions and intuitions.

Help me to relax and take it easy. Free me from doubt and indecision. Guide me through this day and show me my next step.

Show me what I need to do to take care of any problems. I ask all these things that I may be of maximum service to you and my fellow man. In the name of my Lord Jesus Christ, I pray.

Dear God, who pours out the spirit of grace and of supplication to all who ask for it. Deliver me, when I draw near to You, from coldness of heart and wanderings of mind. So that with steadfast thoughts and kindled affections, I may worship You in spirit and in truth.

I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself; and I sorrow for these wrongful acts and omissions from the bottom of my heart. I humbly and fully repent all of my misdeeds, and pray that for the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, you will have mercy on me and forgive me, not by my merits, but by that grace that He has granted those who confess his name.

Today I celebrate the resurrection of your Son, Jesus Christ, the supreme victory over death that belongs to you alone. I pray that I may, today and in the coming week, act in appreciation of the ultimate gift you have given to me and to all who confess the name of Christ. I pray that You will be in my heart and walk with me, that I might sin no more.

Dear Lord, purify my soul today. Let Your Holy Spirit empower me throughout this day, to be obedient to the truth at every moment. So, that I might love my brothers and sisters earnestly, from a pure heart.

And let me always remember that I have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable. And if I am confused or do not know what to think or do, let me think of your Son, Jesus Christ, and ask myself what He would have done. For I will follow him even to the point of suffering and death, confident in his resurrection and the eternal reward for those that do follow him in sincere belief.

Hold me in the palm of Your hand. I pray that You will mold me into what You want me to be. May I joyfully fill the role You have given to me and feel Your peace deep in my soul, today and always.

Dear Heavenly Father, we bring our struggles to You because You know all about them, yet You love us anyway. Teach us to rely on Your Holy Spirit. Make us more like Your Son each day.

Take away from me the spirit of laziness, cowardliness, lust for power, and malicious and idle speech. But rather give me, throughout the day to come, an ample spirit of vitality and force in your service, to the benefit of your glory and the good of my fellow man. Let me act in humility, patience, and decency at all times, seeing my own error and overlooking the faults of others; and let me always know the presence of your Holy Spirit, to remind me of what I have asked,

I pray that you direct my way unto You. And, make me and all of us to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward You. So that, to the end that we may establish our hearts unblameable in holiness before You.

Blessed are you, O Lord my God, King of the universe, who removes sleep from my eyes, that I may see the returning light of the your day. I thank You for all that You have done while I was asleep, watching over me and all your children while we slept unaware. And, I pray that my thoughts and acts this day may show forth my love and thanks for You and all You have done for me.

Help me through your Holy Spirit, that I may remember what you have taught me in the Bible and it may show forth in my every deed. Let me not wander into the hands of sin, nor into the hands of pride or perversity, nor into the hands of temptation, nor into the hands of shame. But, steer my inclinations towards goodness and charity this morning and all the day.

Now the God of patience and consolation grant to me, and to all who pray in the name of Christ, to be like minded one toward another according to Christ Jesus. That we may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. In the name of Christ I pray.

Dear Lord, I offer to Your divine majesty my sincere praise and thanksgiving for all Your mercies towards me. You made me first and have ever since sustained the work of Your own hand. Thank You for giving me the assurance of salvation.

I have sinned and done very wickedly, be merciful to me, O God. Pardon me for Jesus Christ's sake; instruct me in the particulars of my duty. And, suffer me not to be tempted above what You give me strength to bear.

May my life be so pleasing to You that You are pleased to have Your face shine on me. As You graciously smile on my life, may I find someone today with whom I can share Your love through a smile. I ask you, Lord, to defend me this week from all evil, and do more for me than I can think or ask.

Dear Heavenly Father, I bless You for the day that You have made. Let me spend this day rejoicing in Your creation. Fill me with the joy of my salvation, so that Your light may shine through me into the world

Let Your honor and glory may be known to all people. Let me follow Your example to never inflate myself with pride of status, of opinion, or of any of the gifts You have bestowed upon me. Let me welcome good advice and sound rebuke, without defensiveness.

Grant me always to praise rather than criticize, sympathize rather than discourage, build rather than destroy. Help us to remember that we are all Your beloved children. Let my hope and glory be ever in you, and not in my own vanity.

Dear Heavenly Father, I sometimes feel as if I can’t go on. I am tired, I am weak, and I am worn. Thank You that You know my limits better than I do.

Let me read Your Word until something new sinks in; let me pray until I hear Your voice, until all smugness has given way to gratitude. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, renew me afresh in Your Word and power, today and every day, energizing me in your great commission. In Your strength, I can find the enablement to endure.

We give thee humble thanks for opening heathen lands to the light of thy truth; for making paths in the deep waters and highways in the desert; and for planting thy Church in all the earth. Grant, we beseech thee, unto us thy servants, that with lively faith we may labour abundantly to make known to all men thy blessed gift of eternal life. This is all I pray, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Dear Lord, this morning I pray for those who are beginning to know Christ: may You strengthen them on their journey. I pray for all children, and for those who take care of them, especially those who awaken them to faith. I pray for the ill and those who are ending their lives in loneliness: Oh Lord, give them the strength they need.

Help me see the heartfelt needs of those within my care. And, grant that through my words and deeds, Your love with them I’ll share. For with blessings in His hand Christ our God to earth descendeth, our full homage to command.

Have mercy on me, Lord. Pardon me for these offences and any I might have omitted from forgetfulness or ignorance; in the name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, I pray for forgiveness. And I pray that Your Holy Spirit may dwell with me today and throughout the coming week, to comfort me, to give me strength against temptation, and to guide me into the path of righteousness.

Dear Jesus, draw thou our hearts unto thee. Join them together in inseparable love, that we may abide in thee, and thou in us. And that the everlasting covenant between us may stand sure forever.

O wound our hearts with the fiery darts of thy piercing love. Let them pierce through all our slothful members and inward powers, that we, being happily wounded, may so become whole and sound. Let us have no lover but thyself alone; let us seek no joy nor comfort except in thee.

May the God of peace, who declared victory over death by the resurrection of His only Son, Jesus Christ, make me perfect in every thought and act through His grace, that my life might be pleasing in His sight and that I might share the perfect peace that is only possible through Him, to whom be glory for ever and ever.

Dear Lord, thank You for making us in Your own image and redeemed us through Jesus Your Son. Thank You for supporting me all the day long in my daily journey. Help me more to be like You.

Take away the arrogance and hatred which infect our hearts. Break down the walls that separate us. Unite us in bonds of love.

Remind me often that You have been exceedingly generous to me. Help me to extend that generosity of spirit toward those around me, so that they may know who You are and rejoice in You.

Dear God, creator of all that is, king of all who live, mighty in power and abundant in love beyond human imagination. I enter Your presence in the sorrow of my sins against You. I confess all that I have done against Your Holy Word.

I admit the sin I have tried to hide. And where I still cannot admit it, I ask Your Holy Spirit to show it to me. I confess and deeply repent the heartbreak, worry, and sorrow I have caused to You, to others, to myself.

The good news of Jesus is too wonderful to keep to myself, Father. May I live the gospel and share it with others throughout my journey with You, Lord. Deal favourably with me according to Your good pleasure, until I may dwell in your house all the days of my life, and praise You forever and ever with them that are there.

Dear Lord, fill my spirit, and the spirit of all the people today.  Fill us with faith and hope, for a new day has dawned. Set our hearts today to worship You in spirit and in truth.

I acknowledge and confess my guilt to You, Lord. Ease me of the burden of my sins. Give me grace that I may rise from the slumber of sin into the newness of life.

Let me live according to Your Holy Word. Make me to know what is acceptable in Your sight. And, bless the people of this land, Lord.

Dear God, I acknowledge that I am a sinner, and I need Your forgiveness. Thank You, Jesus, for dying for me and giving me eternal life. Transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to You alone.

The heavens are telling of Your glory and the wonders of Your love, the sun by day, and the moon and stars by night. Please help us to see this life from a heavenly perspective. Remind us that our trials, however difficult, will one day fade from view when we see You face to face.

Lethe word of Christ richly dwell within me all this day. And whatever I do in word or deed, may I do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father. Through Christ I pray.

Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You for this beautiful world we live in. But at the same time, we anticipate greatly the new world You have in store for us. We praise You for Your love for us, revealed in Your amazing plans for our future.

Please help us to remember that anything that frightens us comes with an invitation to find the strength of knowing and trusting You. Let me give something that shall aid my kind – a word of courage, or a thought of health. Show me that I need to remember those who are: sick, imprisoned, lonely, confused, in need of a friend, dying, hungry, spiritually lost in their lives — wandering aimlessly through life.

May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep. Equip me with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in me what is pleasing to him. Through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever.

Dear Lord, take away from me the heart of stone, and give me a heart of flesh, a heart to love and adore You, a heart to delight in You, to follow and to enjoy You, for Christ's sake.

Give me a spirit of peace amidst the storms and the tempests that roll. Let me find rest and quiet within a calm buried deep in my soul. Take away from me my sins, and mercifully kindle in me the fire of your Holy Spirit.

The Lord bless us and keep us. The Lord make his face to shine upon us, and be gracious unto us. The Lord lift up his countenance upon us, and give us peace, this day and evermore.

Dear Lord, thank You for another day that You have given to us. Thank You for the gift of life. Glory and praise to You for filling me with life to live another day.

I will spend this day in Your presence filled with Your joy and energy. Help me to accomplish Your will, Lord. Let me do what I can to deserve the joys of the day.

Make me an instrument of Your grace. Bless me and those who pray with me now, that although we cannot see or hear one another, we may be bonded in your Holy Spirit. Let us be as bricks in a great lighthouse to guide the entire world to You, to Your love and Your forgiveness.

Dear God, I come to you asking that your Spirit guide me in prayer. Lead me to complete devotion in my moments spent with you, Lord. Your Son has told us to come to You and I want to do so, not halfway, but with my full heart.

I know from Him that prayer is for the good of all. You have sent us your Holy Spirit; let me know Him in all times and in all places and in every cell of my being. When I am confused, the Spirit will bring me wisdom; when I am angry, peace; when I am afraid, comfort.

Send your Holy Spirit to deepen my worship life. Open my heart to the gifts and cultures which surround my church. Open my heart to the people who are different from me.

Dear Lord, I commit myself to Your care today, and throughout the week. Mold me in Your image. In everything that I say and do, let my mind be on the eternal goodness of Heaven rather than the vanities of earth.

I dedicate myself to Your holiness. I pray that You will be with me all the days of my life. I am heartily sorry that I have ever offended You, and I sincerely repent; with tears I humbly pray to you, O Lord.

Dear Jesus, grant me Your grace, that it may be with me and labor with me and dwell within me, this day and all the days of my short life. Give me grace always to desire and seek what is most acceptable to You; whatever is most pleasing in Your sight, let me do that. Let my will always follow Yours; let Your will be mine.

Reform me into a spiritual perfection impossible for the world, which might be gained only by Your grace. And, help me to live in accord with it. Save me, Christ, I pray, out of love; for unworthy I might be, yet I love You dearly.

I am one of Your people, the sheep of Your flock. I pray for You to heal those who are wounded, touch those who are in pain, clean those who are soiled, warm those who are cold. Help me to know the Father's love through Jesus the shepherd, and through the Spirit.

Dear God, who has filled me with the joy of Your grace and salvation, assist me this day that I may do all things I am called to do without grumbling or disputing. I call on Your Spirit to assist me, that I may be blameless and innocent, a child of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation. Give me the hope I need and help me never to be afraid to begin again.

Let me follow holy Christ and all his saints. Let me shine as a light, a beacon in a world where darkness seeks to overcome us in every thing and at every moment. And help me to hold fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ's return I may be proud that I did not strive in vain.

I give to You my anxiety, Lord Christ, and lay my troubles upon Your mighty back. And I pick up Your burden, for You have promised that it is light, and that You are gentle and kind. Let me work for Your glory and not my own, that the anxiety that comes from pride and vanity and fear of others might be gone from me, and I may serve You in joy and peace.

Dear Lord, in the daytime stars can be seen from deepest wells, and the deeper the wells the brighter Thy stars shine. Let me find Thy light in my darkness, Thy life in my death, Thy joy in my sorrow, Thy grace in my sin, Thy riches in my poverty and Thy glory in my valley. Help me to yield my will to You and to follow where You lead.

Thank You, Lord, for Your love and care. Thank You for sending Your Son, our Savior, to fulfill Your promise of forgiveness and restoration. Show me how You want me to use my gifts for Your kingdom.

May I be willing to be hidden and unknown today, yet ready to speak a word to those who are weary. May Your Spirit touch my words and make them Your words that enrich and refresh others. Give me grace today, so to live by obedience that I may increase in faith and in the understanding of your Holy Word.

Dear God, You make me glad with the weekly remembrance of the glorious resurrection of Your Son my Lord. Give me the peace to worship You with my whole heart and mind, forgetting the cares of the world, and dwelling with You for a short moment with my entire being. And, give me this day such blessing through my worship of You, that the week to come may be spent in living knowledge of Your peace.

I enter Your presence confessing the things I try to conceal from You and the things I try to conceal from others. I confess the heartbreak, worry, and sorrow I have caused, that make it difficult for others to forgive me; the times I have made it easy for others to do wrong; and the harm I have done that makes it hard for me to forgive myself. Have mercy on me, and forgive me for all my sins against You and against others.

Teach the grace to forgive others to all who ask for it. Enlighten the darkness of my mind. Give me a right faith, a firm hope and a perfect charity, so that I may always and in all things act according to Your Holy Will.

Dear Heavenly Father, I am very thankful that I have woken up alive this morning, once again. I will be witnessing again the magnificence and the glory of your creation. Indeed, You are more than wonderful, God.

Even on the darkest hours, let me rejoice in the taste of Heaven you give us on earth. All of Your Creations have a great beauty if I just take the time to see it. How perfect are they, Lord!

Let me be always filled with gratitude for the world you have given me. Grant me strength and courage to love and serve You with gladness and singleness of heart. Thank You for graciously accepted me as a living member of Your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ.

Dear Heavenly Father, You have brought me to the beginning of a new day. As the world is renewed fresh and clean, so I ask You to renew my heart with Your strength and purpose. Forgive me the errors of yesterday and bless me to walk closer in Your way today.

This is the day I begin my life anew. Shine through me so that every person I meet may feel Your presence in my soul. Take my hand, precious Lord, for I cannot make it by myself.

I have tasted You, now I hunger and thirst for more. You touched me, and I burned for Your peace. I bless and thank You for finding me, Lord; may I never more take a breath without a heart filled with Your Spirit.

Dear God, I bless You for the day You have made. I pray that I may spend this day rejoicing in Your creation. I pray for your Holy Spirit to fill me with the joy of my salvation, so that Your light may shine through me into the world, that Your honor and glory may be known to all people.

Remind me of your blessings with every tribulation I may face, so that I may act with energy, forgiveness and love, ever mindful of the grace You have shown to me. Help me to perform the work which you have put at my hand. Deliver me, I pray, in my work, from coveting material goods, from falling into the temptation of serving mammon and putting money in the forefront of my life.

May I go in peace, with God and with his other children. And, may we love one another as Christ taught us. May I follow the example of good men of old, and may God comfort and help me and all who believe in Him, both in this world and in the world which is to come.

Dear God, the author of all good, I come to You for the grace another day will require for its duties and events. I step out into a wicked world; I carry about with me an evil heart. I know that without You I can do nothing, that everything with which I shall be concerned, however harmless in itself, may prove an occasion of sin or folly, unless I am kept by Your power.

Hold me up O God and I shall be safe. Preserve my understanding from subtlety of error, my affections from love of idols, my character from stain of vice, my profession from every form of evil. May I engage in nothing in which I cannot implore Your blessing, and in which I cannot invite Your inspection.

May every creature be made good to me by prayer and Your will. Teach me how to use the world and not abuse it, to improve my talents, to redeem my time, to walk in wisdom toward those without, and in kindness to those within, to do good to all men, and especially to my fellow Christians. And to You, O God, be the glory.

Dear Lord, help me to kindle my fire this morning in the presence of Your Holy Spirit. Let that fire keep burning in my heart so that I can worship you truly in spirit and in truth. Increase our faith in You, Lord.

We know there is nothing that we have that we own and inherited. It’s all Yours, God. Help us to have open hands and heart for You to give and take as You please.

Thank You for Your Words where I can search and know the eternal life that You have given to us. Let us be inspired by it, and live with it, the total truth. Help us to preserve Your word so that every learning there will be applied in our lives.

Dear God, for this coming year, I have just one request to bring. I do not pray for happiness, or any earthly thing and I do not ask to understand the way You lead me, But this I ask: Teach me to do the thing that pleases You.

I want to know Your guiding voice, to walk with You each day. Make me swift to hear and ready to obey. And thus the year I now begin a happy year will be — if I am seeking just to do the thing that pleases You.

Make us to increase and abound in love one toward another and toward all men, even as we do toward You; to the end we may establish our hearts unblameable in holiness before You. Direct our way to You. May praise Your all holy Name forevermore.

Dear God, as I come to you today, fill my heart and my whole being with the wonder of Your presence. Guide me always to do Your Holy will. knowing that your strength will carry me through.  Use me to tell others about You and what You have done.

Your undeserved favor has made it possible for us to be saved from our sin. You have shown us amazing grace. Thank You for the gift You gave.

You did the most wondrous of all things, You made us in Your image and You breathed life into us. I join those praying with me today in thanking you for our lives, and we pray that You continue to sustain us each day. From Your heavenly place accept our prayers and our praise.

Dear God, as we look back and contemplate what we’ve been through this year, how can we say thanks for the things that you’ve done for us? We’ll praise You, Lord, for all You’ve done. Your faithfulness is clear.

Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain wisdom of heart. Help us do today the things that matter, not to waste the time we have. The moments we have are precious, Lord, see that we count them dear.

Fill us this day with Your kindness, that we may be glad and rejoice all the days of my life. I pray that You may lift up the light of Your countenance upon me, and give me peace. Through Christ, I pray.

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for my life and everything You have bestowed upon me and upon all people, this day and every day. I thank You for the good and bad, the understanding of forgiveness, and Your holy power, without which we would have nothing. I thank you this day for all Your blessings, Your gifts, Your never ending love for us.

Although we all are sinners, I ask You to forgive me every day for what I might have done wrong, that I might not have noticed. Even though we all come short of the glory of God, I thank You for the sacrifice of Your only son Jesus Christ for all our sins. You and only You know us Father and You know if our hearts are true.

I confess that I become impatient and discouraged, wanting answers to prayer in my own time and on my schedule. Help me to wait patiently for Your timing in all things. I know You all make things beautiful in Your time.

Today We Pray - Apr. 5, 2017

Dear Heavenly Father, we love You. Give us eyes to see people of all nations as recipients of Your grace and joy. Help our hearts to know the love of Christ and to honor Him with our unyielding devotion in this and every season.

We find hope and strength in knowing that Your light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. I gather in all the goodness and light, in gratitude. I attend to the shadows and what they say to me, seeking healing, courage, forgiveness.

Teach me to live in the knowledge that you who care for me today, will care for me tomorrow and all the days of my life. Continue to create me, guide me and shape me. This is all I ask, in Your Name, I pray.

Today We Pray - Apr. 4, 2017

Almighty God and Father of light, a child is born for us and a son is given to us. Your eternal Word streamed down from heaven in the silent watches of the night. And now, Your Church is filled with wonder at the nearness of her God.

Open our hearts to receive His life and increase our vision with the rising of dawn. May our lives may be filled with his glory and his peace, who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Give us eyes to see people of all nations as recipients of Your grace and joy.

Help us remember the birth of Jesus, that we may share in the song of the angels, the gladness of the shepherds, and worship of the wise men. May the Christmas morning make us happy to be thy children. And, Christmas evening bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts, forgiving and forgiven, for Jesus' sake.

Today We Pray - Apr. 3, 2017

Dear Jesus, You are the light of the world. As Christmas grows closer day by day, help us to be ready to welcome You now. We celebrate Your birth with all our hearts.

As we celebrate Your birth, may we begin to see the world in the light of the understanding You give us. As You chose the lowly, the outcasts, and the poor to receive the greatest news the world had ever known, so may we worship you in meekness of heart. May we also remember our brothers and sisters less fortunate than ourselves in this season of giving.

Teach me, Father, what it means to run to You. Let me have You as my sanctuary. Help me not to worry about the words I say, but just to express my heart to You and to nestle down close to You.

Today We Pray - Apr. 2, 2017

Dear Lord, like Your reluctant prophet, we are inclined to love only those who love us. Yet You loved us even when we cared only for ourselves. Please give us the grace to be more like Jesus.

Take away from me the spirit of laziness, cowardliness, lust for power, and malicious and idle speech. But rather give me, throughout the day to come, an ample spirit of vitality and force in your service. This is for the benefit of your glory and the good of my fellow man.

Let me act in humility, patience, and decency at all times, seeing my own error and overlooking the faults of others. And let me always know the presence of Your Holy Spirit, to remind me of what I have asked. This is all I ask, in the name of my savior Jesus Christ.

Today We Pray - Apr. 01, 2017

Dear Lord, thank You for Your love. Thank You for reminding me of the value of knowing You more intimately. Help me to keep myself out of the way as I pursue a deeper walk with You.

Give us grace to cast away the works of darkness. Let us put on the armor of light, now in the time of this life, in which your Son Jesus Christ came to visit us in great humility. So that, at the last day, when he shall come again in his glorious majesty to judge the living and the dead, we may rise to the life immortal.

May the Passion of Christ be ever in my heart. May Your law and your goodness guide my every thought, O Lord. And may the power of your Holy Spirit flow through my words and my actions today, and always.

Dear Lord, I don’t know what will come this day or farther into the future. But, I’m grateful that You’re by my side. Grant me a spirit of praise and thanksgiving in whatever lies ahead.

Help me to go about the tasks and duties of this day with the remembrance that I am Your servant therein. Make me honest, painstaking, and cheerful. And, grant that all I do and say may bring good to others and glory to your Holy Name.

Grant that in my earthly pilgrimage I may always be supported by this fellowship of love and prayer. And, know myself to be surrounded by their witness to your power and mercy. I ask this for the sake of Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns for ever and ever.

Dear Lord, the skies are telling of Your glory and the wonders of Your love. Thank You for making the sacrifice that has secured my freedom, salvation and eternal life. I look with hope to the day when my knowledge of your glory will never be hidden by the concerns of the world.

Forgive me for all the time I spend with my face bent to the things of earth, Your Spirit ignored and forgotten. May I learn to love You in a way that honors the love You have shown me. Let me know you every moment of time, forever.

I thank You for you are always there, willing to show yourself to me and guide me and comfort me. Burn your love on my heart. Let me be on fire in serving You and loving You.

Dear Jesus, as I spend these days waiting to celebrate Your birth, give me the grace to greet You without suppressed sighs of weariness. Grant me the spirit of generosity. Let me open my front door to You, without any thought of inconvenience.

Let me work every teaching and commandment You gave us. Let me know Your love and share it abundantly with all I may meet, remembering throughout this time Your message and example of long-suffering love and infinite patience. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, renew me afresh in Your Word and power, today and every day, energizing me in Your great commission.

Thank You for dying on the cross for me and covering my sins so that I can have a relationship with You. I love the life You’ve given to me, Lord, yet I wonder what it will be like to see You personally. Help me to trust You with the future. I look forward to that day when I meet You.

Dear Lord, give ear to my prayer. Attend to the voice of my supplications. In the day of my trouble I will call upon You, for You will answer me.

Among the gods there is none like You, O Lord; and no works like those You have done. All nations whom You have made will come and worship before You, O Lord; and will glorify Your name. For You are great, and do wondrous things: You are God alone.

Teach me Your way, Lord, and I will walk in Your truth. Unite my heart to fear Your name. I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart. I will glorify Your name forever.

Dear Heavenly Father, I know that prayer isn’t a good-luck charm. But, I come to You now because there’s no one better to talk to. Let my heart become one with yours.

Help me to be fully alive to your Holy presence. Enfold me in your love everyday, Lord. Inspire me to live in the freedom you intended, with a heart untroubled and with complete trust in You.

Lord, I know that when I turn to you there is no need for words. You can see into my heart, You know my desires and you know my needs. I place myself into Your loving hands.

Dear God, as I face another day, I know I am going to face many challenges: to my faith, to my patience, to my love for others. I am going to have constant temptations to lapse into sin. Come to me now, Lord, and stay with me all day.

Let Your Spirit encompass my mind. Let me know Your presence. Steer my hand, direct my words, guide my thoughts in everything I think and say and do.

I resolve to live this day as a beacon of Your glory, the best I can, with Your help. I commit myself to give this day to You. In the name of Christ, be with me and help me.

Dear Jesus, thank You for this day. You are the Lover of my soul, who draws close in the darkest and longest night. Please keep me trusting You, talking to You, and leaning on Your promises.

Let me remember Your words when I see it, “Be still, and know that I am God.” Let me watch Your day unfold in silence, filled with a sense of Your presence in my life. Your glory fills my spirit and I want only to give thanks with my life this day.

I am filled with gratitude this day, that I could witness such a treasure and could feel it and see it as a gift from You. Thank you for your love. Today, let me carry a sense of how much You love me to send me such a gift.

Today We Pray - March 24, 2017

Dear God, help me to experience Your love more fully so that I can share it with others. I want to live in the light of Your grace and mercy. Let me be the light that shines in this world.

Help me, guide me, Lord. Help me to set priorities around doing those things that will bring me closer to You. Help me remember the joy of simplicity, Lord.

Hold me in the palm of your hand. I pray that you will mold me into what you want me to be. May I joyfully fill the role you have given to me and feel your peace deep in my soul, today and always,
